Yeah, very much so. The Pixies are one of my favorite bands ever and I was so sad when I got into them because they had already split up when I was a teenager. I got into their records and couldn't go see them live. But then I got to see them after the reformed which was completely surreal after listening to their records for so long. |

Not really. Maybe to have more vices.
More vices?
Yeah, I think everyone should have a few vices |
hahaha I'd love to know what vices Jonas picks up for 2010.. |
Okay...Jonas makes me feel old!! Being a teen ager when the Pixies broke up. I was not a teen ager when they broke up....*sits and sulks*
Now what would those vices be? I would love to know myself as well Paula. _________________ Onward to forever, our minds belong together.

Thx Catherine for reporting the gig! They were in Paris a few weeks ago but it was in the middle of the week and with my work, I couldn't go (don't live in Paris so I've got to take the TGV....) Wish I could see them one day...And believe me, I'll be dancing front row |

thanks to superfrenger from mew forum
On learning about the live album: “There was some miscommunication. I don’t think anyone is really to blame. It was a misunderstanding between manager and label and band. I was looking at some news site somewhere and it said ‘Mew is putting out a live album.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ I had never heard of that. And I haven’t heard the recordings, even, so it was kind of a surprise.”
On why the live album was pulled from iTunes: “We’re quite perfectionistic about what we do. We want everything to be just right. It’s one thing streaming something on a Web site or doing a radio session, or even giving a live recording to a radio station or something, but if it’s something that you charge people money for, it has to be amazing. This was a support show that we did for Nine Inch Nails and it wasn’t our people who recorded it. I don’t even know who mixed it. That didn’t really feel right in our book, so we had it pulled.”
On what the "Introducing Palace Players” video is about: “The first time Martin [de Thurah] talked about ‘Introducing Palace Players’, he was really excited about the idea of this thing, I can’t remember exactly what his words were, but it had a lot to do with these geometrical shapes, and sort of very structured shapes versus the chaos of nature, and the communication between the boxes and the moss and stuff. He really sold the idea very well. I’m not sure what the video’s about. I think that he’s the only person who really knows. That’s his favourite video, and he definitely put a lot of his poetry into it.”
On being hypnotized for the "Repeaterbeater" video: “We talked about the idea of us being hypnotized, and then being played our record without knowing it was our record, and then getting our honest opinion of our own music, if such a thing was possible at all. That was the main idea. And then we were going to film it and it would be like a documentary-style film, with the music in it, but with this thing happening. I was very open to the idea of being hypnotized. I was a little bit scared, but I was very open to it. It was kind of disappointing at the first attempt that we did. We just drove out to this old mansion deep inside of Denmark and we met the hypnotist there. And it didn’t work at first. Some of the session that we did where it didn’t work is in the video. It’s where I stop and I say ‘I’m sorry, I can’t do this, it doesn’t work. I’m not under your spell.’ And the thing is, you don’t really realize when you are hypnotized. You can still sort of have conversations. It’s not like you are in some sort of other world or anything. It’s just that people can make you do things that you’re not aware of. And even afterwards you don’t really remember it. So it was kind of weird. It was a really fun experience, but also a little unpleasant at times. I think the video is really funny, so I’m quite happy with it. It really makes me laugh, and it looks really good. Editing the whole thing together must have been quite an ordeal, because they had a lot of stuff. And they had some stuff that wasn’t very nice, where people reacted in a way that wasn’t very pleasant, and ultimately they chose not to use any of that. I think it’s great that they made it into a funny video.”
On the upcoming “Beach” video: “It’s really great. It’s one of my favourites. Again, it’s kind of funny, and there’s these people in costumes. The costumes are made by our good friend, a designer called Henrik Vibskov, and I guess they’re kind of reminiscent of old Bauhaus and absurd theatre and stuff like that. I think it looks really great. I look forward to it coming out, and hearing what people think of it.”
On how Appartajik came to be: “I met Magne [Furuholmen] in Moscow and just struck up a conversation about art and really hit it off. And later on we got together to do a project for this BBC series Amazon. We made a song for that series, which was in support of indigenous tribes. We just got along really well, and we went skiing and stuff like that. A bunch of stuff just happened. I think it’s very important to us that it’s not set in stone what it is we’re doing. We just kind of do what we feel like. And it’s more of an art project than it is a band. So I don’t really know what’s going to happen. We just take one day at a time.”
